Foothills of GA SHRM College Scholarship

The Foothills of GA SHRM Chapter has established a scholarship program to foster excellence in human resources by encouraging and assisting in the professional development of students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management at an accredited college or university in Northeast Georgia.

Scholarship(s) will be awarded up to a total of $1500.00 per school year.  The award may be used for undergraduate studies and will be paid in one lump sum made payable to the student.

Scholarship receipients are selected on the basis of potential to succeed, school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of education and career goals, personal or family circumstances, and outside recommendations.  Selection of receipients is made by an the Chapter Board.

The program is independently managed by the Chapter and the awards are given without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability and national origin.

Second Annual Scholarship Awarded

February 21, 2012 - The Foothills of Georgia Society for Human Resource Management Chapter is pleased to announce the presentation of its’ second annual SHRM Scholarship, awarded through Brenau University School of Business, HR Management Program. The recipient of the $1,500 scholarship is Ms. Stephanie Whitehead of Commerce, Georgia.

Ms. Whitehead was awarded the scholarship for displaying exemplary academic performance, an honorable and focused approach to the vocation by coaching others in their career development, and dedication to the Human Resource Management profession.

The award is presented jointly by Dr. Suzanne Butterfield, Director of HR Management Programs, Brenau University and John Essigman, SHRM Board Member and Chair of the College Relations Committee.
